Agents from the Traffic Detachment of the Civil Guard of Lanzarote have opened an investigation and have identified the vehicles that starred in an illegal race in the north of the island, recorded it, and disseminated it on social media.

As La Voz has learned, the video was recorded in the town of Mala, in the municipality of Haría. It shows two modified vehicles, one blue and one yellow, engaged in an illegal race at night.

During the time interval captured in the images, it can also be seen that the yellow vehicle overtakes a driver traveling through the town, occupying the other lane, while the blue one constantly occupies the opposite lane to carry out the race.

The video, which was shared on social media, has been investigated by the Civil Guard in order to identify its drivers, as they could be committing a crime against road safety.

Although the license plates were not visible in the recording, the vehicles have aesthetic modifications and stickers that facilitate their identification.

Participating in illegal races or driving recklessly can result in fines of up to 500 euros and the loss of six points on your license. Furthermore, according to current law, these infractions can also lead to jail, with prison sentences ranging from six months to two years.
