The video of a savage fight between two dogs is being investigated by the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) of the Civil Guard, since in it several young people are seen encouraging the animals. The researchers believe that these are dogs trained to attack and participate in this type of illegal fights.

The events, which apparently occurred in the municipality of Tinajo, could constitute a crime of animal abuse, so the Seprona is analyzing these images to locate those responsible, who could be minors.

In Spain, the penalties for punishing animal abuse were toughened three years ago, with a reform in the Penal Code. Since then, the law contemplates penalties of three months to one year in prison for anyone who "by any means or procedure unjustifiably mistreats a domestic or tamed animal, causing death or injuries that seriously impair its health".
