The Civil Guard has identified seven minors, all of them 15 and 16 years old, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of damage, by breaking and destroying various materials and furniture of the Teguise Secondary Education Institute on Halloween night. Of the seven young people investigated, five are students of the IES.
The teaching staff of the center notified the Civil Guard at 07:49 on the 2nd, reporting numerous damages made to the IES during the morning. Agents from the Investigation Area of the unit went there to begin the corresponding investigations, to verify the damages and identify the perpetrators.
The agents appreciated numerous damages made in several classrooms of the center, consisting of broken glass, computers, graffiti, furniture, etc., observing "greater damage" in some classrooms than in others. According to the Civil Guard, the damages have been estimated at more than 4,000 euros, pending an official appraisal.
As a result of the statements of the teaching staff and part of the student body, and the analysis of various conversations in groups of the whatsapp messaging application, the agents of the Investigation Area finally gathered sufficient police evidence to determine the alleged authorship of seven minors -five of them students of the same center-, being finally investigated in police headquarters accompanied by their legal guardians, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of damage.
The minors and the police report have been made available to the Permanent Assignment of the Prosecutor's Office in Arrecife and the Prosecutor's Office for Minors of Las Palmas.
