The Civil Guard has launched a search operation in the sea to try to find the body of Romina Celeste, after her husband confessed that he got rid of the body. Raúl D.C. was arrested this Sunday, after agents found indications that he was related to the young woman's disappearance.
The detainee did not report this disappearance until a week later and finally, after his arrest, he confessed that his wife died on January 1. And although he claims that he found her dead when he got home and continues to deny having murdered her, he has admitted that he hid her body and threw it into the sea.
According to the Civil Guard, the search efforts will be carried out "for a limited period of time in specific locations along the coast, in order to verify the indications that suggest the possible disappearance of her remains."
Agents from the Group of Specialists in Underwater Activities (GEAS), the Provincial Maritime Service and the Civil Guard helicopter based in Fuerteventura are participating in the search.
