The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Yaiza arrested on the 6th a German couple for a crime against public health, after finding in their home a greenhouse with an installation for the cultivation of marijuana, as well as several plants".
The investigation began at the end of last August, following several neighborhood complaints about the strong smell of marijuana in the area", in the urban area of the town of Yaiza.
After several police investigations, the agents of the Investigation Area observed "several clear indications of an alleged crime of cultivation of narcotic substances, since among other things the house had an installation outside as a greenhouse and the smell of marijuana emanating from the house (a two-story single-family house) was notorious".
With these indications of an alleged crime against public health, they requested a judicial authorization to enter and search the house, finding the agents numerous instruments for the cultivation of marijuana, such as irrigation timers, fans and dehumidifiers, as well as 17 marijuana plants in different stages of growth and five bags with various amounts of marijuana buds.
The detainees and the seized narcotic substances have been placed at the disposal of the corresponding Court, on duty, of the town of Arrecife.
