A spectacular fire has occurred this Saturday afternoon in a plot of land on Los Helechos street in El Cable. The firefighters, once alerted by the CECOES, have moved to the place together with agents of the Local Police. From the Emergency Consortium they have reported that it was a fire of stubble and trees in a walled plot of 500 square meters.
The size of the fire has forced the evacuation of several houses attached to the site and vehicles have been removed from the area near the fire. The spectacular nature of the flames and smoke has alerted many people, as reported by residents in El Cable as well as in nearby towns such as Playa Honda and Arrecife.
For its total extinction the firefighters have used 14,000 liters of water.
