The Angel Shark Project organization has announced that last Friday six angel sharks were found trapped in an "illegal trammel net" in the waters of Lanzarote.

According to them, it was a member of a diving club who came across "this terrible image" while exploring outside of Puerto del Carmen.

Two of the angel sharks "could be released", but "the others were not so lucky", indicates Angel Shark Projet, which highlights that "these animals are included in the National Catalog of Threatened Species, in the category of maximum protection".

Likewise, the organization affirms that it is trying to coordinate the recovery of the net and the bodies with the environmental services and the Seprona, since "it is important that they record the incident".
