Several people have run aground aboard a boat on the coast of La Graciosa. The Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote received the notice around 11:50 p.m. at night, alerting them to a stranded vessel three hours earlier on the coast, in the area between Playa Lambra and Pedro Barba, north of the eighth island.
When the Emergency services received the notice, the fishermen from the stranded vessel were no longer on board, but were in the town of Órzola, in the north of Lanzarote. All were in good health, so medical intervention or rescue of the survivors was not necessary.
After that, firefighters from Bravo 3 and Romeo 3 mobilized to the scene of the incident. Upon arrival, they located the stranded vessel on the coast. Once in the area, they proceeded to inspect the boat and to remove and collect the debris and materials detached from the vessel, in order to prevent them from dispersing into the environment.
The emergency team also proceeded to seal the water inlets in the hull, leaving the vessel as conditioned as possible to facilitate towing operations that are expected to take place this Wednesday.
Once the work was completed and it was verified that there were no other immediate risks in the area, they concluded the intervention.
