A sailboat ran aground this Friday morning on Papagayo Beach, as reported by EMERLAN.
The incident occurred at about half past three in the morning when the crew alerted the Canary Islands Emergency Coordination Center (CECOES). The GES vessel of the NGO and Local Police have traveled to the place.
When the EMERLAN members arrived, they located the two crew members who had left the vessel on their own means and had not suffered any injuries. The EMERLAN troops have been there for several hours to try to get the sailboat out with the high tide, but the amount of water it had inside did not allow the recovery.
The Yaiza City Council will take care of the removal of the sailboat.
