Playa Chica or Pila de la Barrilla had to be closed to swimming after the detachment of a marine platform. The events occurred around 5:30 p.m., when the divers who were working in the area gave the warning.

According to Emerlan to La Voz, the marine platform "sank about 15 meters", an event for which the area was "marked" to avoid access to the rocks. In addition, the deputy director of Emerlan, Ginés Cedrés, revealed this Monday to the newspaper that "the beach remains closed to swimming" since the incident occurred. "We don't know what happened, so for the moment it will remain closed," he specified.

This Sunday, Civil Protection of Tías, the Boluntis, Emerlan and two Emerlan rescue vehicles provided service, in addition to the intervention of the beach lifeguard.

This Monday, divers from Emerlan and Boluntis will approach the site to submerge again and learn about the state of the detached platform. In addition, they are waiting for the environment to locate a geologist to verify its condition with the images that have been taken.
