The Haría City Council and the Civil Guard ask people to take extreme precautions when walking with their dogs through certain streets of the municipality, after several
pets have been poisoned after ingesting remains of toxic substances.

The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, confirms that "the Local Police of Haría and the Seprona have opened an investigation to clarify the origin of the poisoning of the animals." The mayor explains that the affected area, which is La Cañada street and the surrounding roads, has already been thoroughly cleaned, but reiterates the importance of "being very careful until the origin is clarified".

For his part, the Councilor for Animal Welfare, Marcos Lemes, recalls that "the City Council cleans public areas daily" and adds that "it is very sad that there are people who put public health at risk, in this case that of animals." Lemes recalls that this type of action is classified in the Penal Code and punished with prison sentences.

If anyone knows any information about it or finds any suspicious substance that could pose a risk to public health, it is important that they contact the Local Police by calling 928 83 52 52. They can also contact the Seprona offices in Costa Teguise at 661.786.461.
