A palm tree fell on a pergola in the Las Cabreras senior center, in the municipality of Teguise, on Monday morning, creating a risk situation for the users of the facilities. The alert was given at 8:36 a.m. by a center worker via a telephone call.
Personnel from the Central Park traveled to the scene, along with a transport company equipped with a crane. The area was marked off as a preventive measure and the firefighters accessed the top of the pergola with a hook ladder to secure the palm tree with slings. Subsequently, the tree was deposited on the ground with the help of the crane and cut into pieces for transfer to the landfill.
