The Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium was overwhelmed in the early hours of this Tuesday, as it had to carry out several interventions in different parts of the island due to several fires, which affected a vehicle, a motorcycle, three containers and two palm trees.
The first warning occurred at 11:38 p.m. on Monday on Tanganillo Street, in Arrecife, due to a car fire. Alerted by the Local Police, the firefighters went to the scene and found that it was a car fire that was already extinguished.
The fire affected the interior of the vehicle and caused the rear door window to break, but neither the owner nor the police officers were at the scene, so they cooled the cabin with sprayed water and ended the service.
The second fire occurred in front of the Hotel Beatriz, in Puerto del Carmen, at around 00:50 this Tuesday morning. Alerted by the CECOES, the firefighters went to the site and found that the flames were affecting a motorcycle and a palm tree, so they proceeded to extinguish them with sprayed water and cleaned the road, in the presence of the Local Police and the Civil Guard.
However, the incidents were far from over. As soon as they finished, the Consortium was notified that three containers were also engulfed in flames in a nearby street, on Gramillo Street, so they immediately moved to the place. The fire affected a total of three containers, two organic and one of plastic waste that were burning in their entirety, so they decided to spray them with sprayed water and foam, with the pro pac.
Finally, the firefighters received another warning from the local police at 02:14 of a fire that affected another palm tree on Playa Honda Avenue, a fire that they extinguished, as on other occasions, with sprayed water and jet.
