The farms of Teguise are suffering a new wave of robberies and once again, the City Council has announced that it will increase surveillance in the area. "The Agriculture area coordinated by Gerardo Rodríguez, in response to the complaint of the owners of farms due to new robberies on their farms, has requested the collaboration of the Local Police and the Civil Guard to minimize robberies in the countryside, a task to which the affected sector itself and the neighbors of Teguise join, in order to scare away the thieves," the Consistory said in a statement.
Before the start of the harvest, the City Council affirms that it has reinforced surveillance with a special device that patrols the agricultural exploitations, increasing the police presence and the State Security Forces in the farms and rural areas.
The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, reiterates one more season that "to minimize that the friends of others are tempted to devastate the harvest of the field workers, we have to make an effort among all and denounce any unusual movement".

"As recommended by the security agents themselves, it is necessary to immediately report a theft or robbery, since it facilitates the investigation, so it is very important that they alert the Police and that they write down the license plates of suspicious vehicles," added the head of the Local Police, Miguel Ángel Jiménez.
