Firefighters from the Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote had to intervene during the early hours of this Tuesday due to alerts for a total of thirteen container fires and seven vehicles affected, one of them burnt out and the other six affected by radiation.
As reported by the Consortium, the alerts for the fires were received between 00:20 AM and 02:05 AM this Tuesday.
The fires took place on several streets in the capital: Doctor Severo Ochoa, La Carmen, Fernando El Católico, El Isleño, Castillo de Las Coloradas, and Yagabo.
Firefighters were alerted to intervene in a fire on La Carmen street. Upon their arrival, agents of the Local Police of Arrecife were already clearing and securing the area.
In that first fire, they counted up to four containers affected: one for organic waste, one for paper and cardboard recycling, one for glass recycling, and one for packaging recycling.
While they were extinguishing it, they received an alert for another container fire in the vicinity. Therefore, they had to move to that second fire, where a packaging recycling container had been affected, and then return to La Carmen street to complete the extinction.
Once it was confirmed that there was no risk of reignition, the service was considered finished, and we returned to the scene of the traffic accident to continue with the work that was being carried out there.
