The National Police arrested on Friday a suspected sexual predator, a 51-year-old man and resident of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, accused of alleged crimes of corruption of minors, sexual assault and child prostitution. The investigation remains open and it is not ruled out that there are more victims.
The case - in charge of the Family and Women's Care Unit (UFAM) of the Telde police station, the municipality in which he had his ground zero of action - began a few weeks ago, when a mother discovered conversations between her son and this individual. The chats revealed masochistic practices and requests. The woman immediately went to police headquarters to report the facts.
UFAM agents, after receiving the complaint, interviewed the minor, who acknowledged what happened and having gone to the home of the now detained. The teenager told the Police that he had gone to the house after the investigated contacted him through social networks, the individual's 'modus operandi', who convinced him with an economic offer: he would pay him thirty euros just if he hit him and humiliated him. The young man agreed, but when he was in the apartment he got scared and decided to leave.
The minor also revealed that a friend of his was another of the victims. "He pays me to go to his house and hit him," said the other affected, who was allegedly asked to send images of a sexual nature.
