On August 13, 2025, agents of the Investigation Area of the Main Post of Yaiza of the Civil Guard, arrested a 35-year-old male as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of drug trafficking. After his arrest, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court No. 3 of Arrecife, which ordered his provisional imprisonment.
The police intervention took place within the so-called operation "Socks", which began after receiving various information about the existence of an important movement of buying and selling drugs, both on a large scale and retail, in Playa Blanca, municipality of Yaiza.
Thanks to the work of the agents, it was possible to identify what is commonly known as "a pass" of drugs, so they immediately proceeded to arrest the alleged seller. With the information previously gathered during the investigation, the Civil Guard requested an entry and search warrant from the Investigating Court No. 3 of Arrecife, which was granted.
Search of his home and vehicle
During the search of the detainee's home and vehicle, the agents found a kilo of high-purity cocaine, half a kilo of cocaine already mixed, and another 500 grams of cutting substances. In addition, they found several precision scales and materials prepared to pack and seal the doses for later sale.
Not only were these substances located, but also other less common drugs, such as ecstasy pills, doses of LSD and a considerable amount of Rivotril pills, a drug from the benzodiazepine family. In addition, 200 grams of hashish and more than seven thousand euros in cash were seized, allegedly from the sale of these substances.
