A man in critical condition after drowning in a Lanzarote pool

A man is in critical condition after suffering a near drowning in a Lanzarote pool. The incident took place early this Wednesday morning at the Club La Santa complex, located on Krogager Avenue, in the municipality of Tinajo.

At around 7:20 a.m. this Wednesday, the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) of the Government of the Canary Islands received a call alerting of the rescue of a man with signs of drowning and in cardiorespiratory arrest, who was in the complex's pool.

The rescue personnel of the premises began with the cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers until the arrival of the sanitary personnel of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), who continued with the maneuvers in their advanced stage, managing to reverse the situation.

A medicalized ambulance from the SUC and another with basic life support were dispatched to the scene. At the initial moment of his assistance, this man presented symptoms of severe near drowning, so, after stabilizing him, he was transferred in critical condition to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.

In addition, the 1-1-2 Emergency Coordinating Center also activated the Local Police, who were in charge of instructing the proceedings.
