The Civil Guard arrested a 47-year-old man in Playa Blanca on January 3 as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of cultivation and processing of narcotic substances, as he had 81 cultivated marijuana plants in his home, as well as different materials and electronic devices for its growth and processing. The detainee, with initials J.S.M. and of Spanish nationality, already had a police record for similar events.
As the Civil Guard explains in a statement, the investigation began "as a result of different information obtained by agents from the Investigation Area about the presence of a marijuana crop in the town of Playa Blanca." That's where "the corresponding police investigations began to verify them," including surveillance in the area.
After gathering the necessary evidence, the agents obtained the mandatory judicial order for entry and search, carried out on the 3rd. During that search, the agents seized 81 plants as well as different materials and electronic devices for their growth and processing (vacuum purging machine, precision scale), 39 grams of pollen from the aforementioned plant, 1,035 grams of buds of the same species and cannabis oil that is obtained with the vacuum machine.
Both the narcotic substances and the seized material and the detainee were later made available to the corresponding Arrecife Duty Court.
