The Civil Guard of Costa Teguise has arrested five people for several robberies in Costa Teguise. The arrested are mostly of Spanish nationality and were arrested between December 2 and 21 for being the alleged perpetrators of a continued crime of robbery with force, two crimes of robbery with force and a crime of theft. All these crimes allegedly committed by those arrested are related to theft inside homes and establishments in the town of Costa Teguise.
Start of the investigation
The investigation began as a result of the increase since last June in reports of robberies inside homes. All of them had occurred in the vicinity of an urbanization in the town of Costa Teguise and had been carried out "by forcing windows or access doors", the Civil Guard explained.
From the analysis of the robberies, the agents were able to extract a series of "conclusions about the modus operandi of the criminals and the characteristics of execution." Thus, they concluded that they stole objects that "could have an easy outlet in the buying and selling market", highlighting among them two 39 and 42-inch televisions, a Thermomix food processor, a telescope, a mountain bike valued at around 1,300 euros, construction machinery, music equipment, decorative figures of high economic value, etc.
Two first arrests for robbery with force
On December 2, the police investigations carried out by the members of the Investigation Area bore fruit. That day, two people, with initials A.S.S. and F.A.L., were arrested for being the alleged perpetrators of two crimes of robbery with force. With this action, the Civil Guard recovered all of the stolen objects that were in a second-hand buying and selling store.
The Benemérita continued, however, with the investigation, "due to the continuity of the robberies in the vicinity of the urbanization." In this case, the alleged perpetrators accessed a maintenance room by forcing the accesses. From there they took various high-value construction machinery, such as electric hammers, electric drills, etc. The Civil Guard points out that this material would be valued at approximately 3,000 euros. For these events, at the beginning of the month of December, A.S.S. is arrested again, together with three other people, for being the alleged perpetrators of a crime of robbery with force and another crime of theft.
"Part of the stolen objects were sold by a well-known social network with a false profile," the Civil Guard pointed out. "The bicycle and the rest of the objects were deposited in a buying and selling store, recovering practically all of what was stolen, amounting to 9,000 euros," they add.
The detainees, together with the recovered effects, have been placed at the disposal of the corresponding Court, on duty, of the town of Arrecife.
