Members of the Lanzarote Fire Brigade carried out a collaborative intervention this Wednesday, January 7, with the healthcare service of the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, in Arrecife, to remove a ring that was causing significant swelling in a patient's finger.
The operation began after a phone call from the hospital itself requesting support to safely remove the ring, as it was constricting the patient's finger, making it difficult to remove by usual means.Once at the health center, firefighters checked the condition of the finger and proceeded to protect the area between the ring and the skin with a safety element, with the aim of avoiding any type of cut or injury during the maneuver.
Next, pliers were used to make a cold cut on the ring, allowing it to be opened and the patient's finger to be freed effectively and without incident. Once the intervention was completed, the closure of the service was reported to the Central, thus concluding the collaboration.
