Firefighters from the Security and Emergency Consortium found the body of a man in his home in San Bartolomé on Sunday night. The deceased, as confirmed to La Voz from the City Council, is the treasurer of the institution, Alejandro José Cabrera, 56 years old and a native of La Palma.
From the Civil Guard they have indicated that Alejandro José Cabrera died of natural causes, although they are waiting for the corresponding autopsy.
The firefighters were alerted to proceed with the opening of the house, located on Matarife street in San Bartolomé, being informed upon arrival that the house could be accessed through a neighbor's patio. Once inside, they verified that the owner was deceased, opening the door so that the different security and health bodies could access. The firefighters also helped kennel staff take away a dog that lived with the deceased.
