Firefighters put out a fire this Monday in Puerto del Carmen. The events took place at the Rancho Texas roundabout at around 2:23 p.m., according to the Security and Emergency Consortium.
Once in the area, the emergency teams verified that black smoke was coming out of some vents inside some underground warehouses for the use of pumping sewage. Immediately afterwards, they had to break the cylinder of two locks with the help of the extractor to be able to reach the fire.
During the service, the firefighters proceeded to ventilate the space with the help of the battery fan and to open the vents completely. After that maneuver, they deposited the material extracted from the fire in the roundabout to extinguish it with water and prevent it from being activated. Afterwards, they notified the municipal cleaning company for its removal.
According to emergency personnel, the fire affected some cables that provide energy to one of the impulsion pumps, causing the black smoke. To put out the fire, they used a CO2 extinguisher from the company itself.
In addition, two Local Police officers went inside the warehouse to provide service and carry out the corresponding procedures. Agents of the Civil Guard were also present, who were in charge of guarding the fire area. A Canal Gestión worker also went to the scene.
