Lanzarote Airport firefighters are conducting rescue and fire extinguishing practices at the island's aerodrome. This was reported by Aena sources to La Voz.
On the morning of this Monday, May 12, drivers traveling on the LZ-2, one of the main roads of Lanzarote, which connects Playa Blanca with Arrecife, could see a large column of smoke coming from the island's aerodrome. The column of smoke was located to the left of the runway and several fire trucks had moved to the site.
As also confirmed by Aena, this smoke is due to controlled practices within the airport area and will be extended throughout the week. Thus, from the Security and Emergency Consortium of the island have stressed that the Airport is conducting "real fire tests", but reassure the population and have ensured that "it is not a fire".
