Different security, emergency and health personnel from the island participated in a simulation of a multiple traffic accident with 11 victims. The exercise took place this Saturday on Tenderete street in the Argana Alta neighborhood of Arrecife. For the first time, it was recorded through the drone of the Local Police of Arrecife.

The rehearsal, organized by the Island Security and Emergency Consortium together with the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, involved Local Police, Firefighters, Red Cross, Emerlan, Civil Protection of four municipalities, ISCAN and SIA. The simulation is part of the course 'Initial care for the adult trauma patient', aimed at medical and nursing staff, and serves as an evaluation for the students participating in it.

The exercise started at 10:50 a.m., when CECOES 112 received a call alerting of the collision of several vehicles on the road for unknown reasons and with several victims. Among them, there were injuries of various kinds, both serious and very serious, all of them with trauma.

Five minutes later, agents from the Local Police and the Fire Department arrived, inspected the area, sent information to the central station, secured the place, requested the necessary resources and began rescue and salvage tasks.

At 10:58 the Red Cross ambulance arrived, which assessed the situation and carried out the first triage. Later, the Civil Protection vehicles and the rest of the ambulances from Emerlan, Red Cross, ISCAN and SIA arrived at the area, as well as the Civil Protection personnel from Arrecife, Tías, San Bartolomé and Yaiza.

At 11:12 a.m., assistance to the first injured began by the health personnel, helped by the Civil Protection personnel. Subsequently, the ambulances evacuated the victims to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, a transfer that ended at 12:15 p.m., that is, 1 hour and 25 minutes after the start of the simulation.
