The Arrecife Local Police arrested this Tuesday the driver of the vehicle that ran over a woman in the Arrecife neighborhood of Titerroy. The young man, 23 years old and of Ecuadorian nationality, was driving a car without insurance and without ITV, which was also not his own, and he is charged with a crime of omission of the duty to help.
The accident took place on Avenida Hernández Pacheco, around 2:00 p.m., when a gray Renault Clio ran over a 74-year-old woman, who had to be transferred to the José Molina Orosa Hospital. The vehicle fled the scene, but a witness was able to see the license plate, and communicated it to the Local Police.
Thus, the agents were able to locate the owner of the vehicle, who explained that the car is used by her ex-boyfriend, since she does not have a driver's license. Although the detainee also has a restraining order from his ex-partner, he apparently continues to use her vehicle. For this, according to the Police, the young man's father acts as an "intermediary".
Already in the early hours of the morning, and after the vehicle was located in the young woman's garage and transferred to the depot, the driver of the vehicle, who responds to the initials C.F.L.L., appeared at the Local Police Station and was placed at judicial disposition.
