A dead cow has been found this Tuesday on the coast between La Santa and Caleta de Caballo, in the municipality of Teguise. It was agents of the Local Police who alerted the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium after detecting the animal's corpse in a difficult-to-access area.
As the manager of the Consortium, Enrique Espinosa, explained to La Voz, the corresponding protocol has been activated and a specialized company has been sent to assess how to act, due to the complexity of the place where the animal has appeared.
These types of findings are not unusual on the island. On several occasions, dead animals have been found dragged by the sea to the coast, some of which may have been thrown from boats after dying.
The authorities are waiting to determine the safest and most effective way to proceed with the removal of the animal, given the difficulty of the terrain and the possible environmental implications.
