Agents of the National Police have arrested in the municipality of Arrecife a 38-year-old woman as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of receiving stolen goods and two men aged 30 and 35, all of them without police records, as alleged perpetrators of the theft of a postal package valued at 4,440 euros. One of those arrested, an employee of the courier company that was to collect the shipment, allegedly seized it and gave it to another of them to sell its contents in a second-hand shop located in Arrecife. The aforementioned package contained six state-of-the-art mobile terminals.
The investigation began last year, when a complaint was received from the managers of a company located in Gran Canaria, reporting the disappearance of a postal package valued at 4,440 euros and which should have arrived in Arrecife.
The police investigation made it possible to determine that one of the employees of the transport company allegedly seized it upon arrival in Arrecife.
Once in possession of it, he handed over its contents, a total of six high-end and latest generation smartphones, to an acquaintance to sell it in a second-hand shop located in a shopping centre in Arrecife.
The police investigations culminated in the arrest of both, two men aged 30 and 35 as alleged perpetrators of a crime of theft, as well as the person in charge of the establishment where the terminals were sold for receiving stolen goods. All the stolen smartphones were recovered and returned to their rightful owner.
The corresponding police report was drawn up and sent to the competent judicial authority. The police investigation was carried out by agents from the Telde Police Station and the Arrecife Police Station.
