"The robberies are being repeated and we wonder what is happening." This is the account of a person who runs a restaurant in Tahíche, who has been the victim of two robberies in just one week. He also assures that several establishments in the town have also suffered robberies in the last month, such as a hairdresser where a computer, a mobile phone, some products and 50 euros were stolen at the beginning of October.

"There is concern and the neighbors are scared," says the owner of this hairdresser, who even explains that several residents saw a boy enter through a window of a house and called the Police believing he was robbing. In the end it turned out that he was entering a house to visit his girlfriend. "Now everything is so recent, that they already call alarmed," he insists.

From the Civil Guard they have indicated to La Voz that "intense efforts" are being made to locate the perpetrators of the robberies, reinforcing the services to arrest these people. He has even held meetings with the Local Police of Teguise to coordinate these actions. Seven reports have been filed with the Civil Guard for robberies and two more for attempted robberies in the last three months, although some residents point out that several more have occurred.

The last one took place on Saturday night in a restaurant in the town, which had already been the victim of a robbery the previous week. The first time they forced the door to enter, the owner fixed it but they destroyed it again a few days later. From this place, they took the cash register and some bottles of whiskey, from the "most expensive".

On the day of the last robbery, the restaurant had hosted a wedding, which ended around 3:30 a.m. At 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, the person who runs the restaurant returned to make bread and found "that they had entered again and had taken the cash register".

"It seems they know when there may be money"

Both robberies in this restaurant coincided "with movement in it", that is, with the celebration of an event and a wedding. "It seems they know when there may be money," suggests the person affected, who filed both complaints with the Civil Guard.

Although he assures that he has not lost much money, since there was not "a large amount" of cash left in the cash register, he is concerned about "the fact of finding the door destroyed, without the cash register that they took because they could not open it and with the drawers" of the restaurant "open".

This person insists that he has not been the only one who has suffered robberies in recent days, but that they have also occurred in a company and in at least three establishments in Tahíche and two houses in Tahíche Bajo. "We don't know who is behind these robberies. We don't know if it is one person or more, but it is not normal, something has to be done, control the town more because it is small," he insists.

And it is that the neighbors are "concerned" because it seems that the thieves "are there", since the robberies are being "very followed". "On Sunday I closed the restaurant and on Tuesday I went thinking about whether they had entered again. I have been with the place for two years and nothing had ever happened to me," he says.

The owner of the hairdresser who suffered a robbery on the 2nd assures that other similar events have also occurred in the area, such as in Correos, and an attempted robbery in another hairdresser.
