The Judicial Police of Costa Teguise has taken charge of the investigation of the stabbing of the 30-year-old young man that occurred this Thursday in Punta Mujeres, and all the police forces have been activated, together with the Civil Guard, to arrest the alleged perpetrator, who has already been identified.

Meanwhile, the victim is "out of danger", according to the mayor of Haría, Marci Acuña, on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero. The young man had cuts on both his arm and abdomen, although no vital organ was affected. In addition, "fortunately there was a doctor there who assisted him at first," the mayor explained. Afterwards, he was transferred to the Hospital in the ambulance based in Arrieta, which, according to Acuña, "arrived at the scene in just a few minutes."

The incident took place shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Tabaiba Street. After the attack, the perpetrator fled the scene in a vehicle, although several witnesses to the events managed to identify him and give his details to the Civil Guard. According to the mayor, both the aggressor and the victim are natives of Gran Canaria, although both reside in the northern town of Punta Mujeres.

Police sources assure that the alleged aggressor responds to the initials of A. J. M. R. The alleged attacker has already been arrested on three other occasions and has numerous police records, and the victim also has a record, according to sources from the investigation to La Voz.
