Personnel from the Consortium of Security and Emergencies have intervened on the morning of this Thursday, May 7, after a microbus got hooked to several cables on Virgen de Covadonga street, in Arrecife.
According to the Consortium, the alert was communicated at 08:45 hours by Local Police agents, who warned that a minibus had become trapped in the overhead power lines of the track.
Consortium personnel were dispatched to the scene and confirmed that the vehicle was hooked to telecommunications cables and that, in addition, several power line cables were in contact with the minibus.
The firefighters initially checked if there was any damage to the electrical installation, finally ruling out any electrical risk. Subsequently, using a dielectric pole and the corresponding protective equipment, they proceeded to lift the wiring while the bus driver slowly moved the vehicle until it was freed.
Once the maneuver was completed, the personnel provisionally secured the affected cables and communicated the state of the network to the responsible company so that it could proceed with its definitive repair.
The incident ended with no people affected.
