The National Police have arrested a 31-year-old man in Arrecife accused of committing various robberies throughout Lanzarote. Specifically, he is the perpetrator of the robbery at the Juncar bookstore in San Bartolomé, the one at La Molina de José María Gil, as well as in several cars in the same municipality that took place on January 4.
The case became known after a neighbor recorded a video from which it could be observed how a man was leaving the Juncar bookstore in the middle of the night after a Local Police vehicle stopped in front of the establishment. The man fled while two agents chased him running and a third drove the patrol vehicle.
That day the police could not arrest the perpetrator of the robberies. Thus, they sent the proceedings to the Civil Guard, since the alleged thief had been identified and they knew that he was a resident of the municipality.
When the Benemérita found his whereabouts, he had already been arrested by the National Police as the perpetrator of other robberies in Arrecife.
As La Voz already reported, in the robbery committed in La Molina, he stole cash and merchandise, and multiple damages were done to the door, furniture and various areas of the facilities.

Since December 27, the man was wanted for stealing money from the Deco Hogar store in Arrecife. According to agents informed La Voz, the thief took 700 euros from the store and fled running from the establishment.
The National Police points out that this resident also committed various robberies in different vehicles in the capital of Lanzarote. He was identified by the agents for carrying out six robberies with force in cars that were on public roads and stealing personal belongings from inside the vehicles.
He committed the first two robberies on December 20, the third and fourth on the 21st of that same month, and the last two last Friday, December 29. The man accessed the belongings by breaking the left window and forcing the lock of the cars.
