The Civil Guard of the Guacimeta Airport arrested on May 29 a person of foreign nationality but resident on the island, with the initials J.E.C.V. and 47 years of age, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health (drug trafficking) after being seized a package with 350 grams of cocaine.
During the afternoon of that day, the Civil Guard agents in charge of monitoring the flight from Seville suspected a passenger in the baggage claim area "due to his nervous and elusive attitude" so they decided to identify him. After observing "certain inconsistencies and obvious restlessness", the agents decided to carry out a superficial search, finding at that moment a package with 350 grams of cocaine, which he was hiding under his clothes, attached to his body.
He was immediately arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health and placed at the disposal of the corresponding Arrecife Court acting as duty court on Thursday, May 31, agreeing on precautionary measures on said individual until the oral trial is held.
