The Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote and La Graciosa intervened this Friday in a building located on Luis Braille street, in Arrecife, after receiving a notice from the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) due to the fall of debris from a balcony.
Upon arrival at the scene, the personnel verified that the damage was not limited to the point where the detachment occurred, but rather affected the plasterwork of the homes in the building in a generalized manner, posing a risk of further debris detachment at different points of the facade.
According to the report prepared by the firefighters, the magnitude of the damage and the difficulty in accessing the affected areas prevent immediate action with the available means. Furthermore, they indicated that the aerial ladder cannot be used due to lack of access, so they consider it to be specialized masonry work that requires the installation of scaffolding.
Following the inspection, the personnel informed the Local Police of Arrecife of the situation, which requested the corresponding technical report to adopt the appropriate measures. Meanwhile, the Consortium warns of the risk of detachments on the facade until the necessary actions are taken to secure the building.
