A fire outbreak registered on Wednesday night in an apartment in Puerto del Carmen, in the municipality of Tías, mobilized emergency services without any personal injuries
According to the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, the alert was received at 9:55 PM via CECOES regarding a fire in a dwelling located on Cesto street, in the Orquídeas Apartments, apartment number 21. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that the fire had already been extinguished with an extinguisher, although the property had a large accumulation of smoke.
The people who were inside had previously gone outside. Local Police officers and Civil Protection personnel were already at the scene. The source of the fire was located in some electrical outlets in a bedroom, and it was ultimately a small, already extinguished fire.
Firefighters proceeded to isolate the electrical and fire hazard, in addition to ventilating the apartment with an electric fan. However, the use of the powder extinguisher caused the entire building to be affectedUpon concluding the intervention, the officers informed the residents that the electrical installation must be inspected by a qualified technician and that the dwelling is not suitable for occupancy until the damages are repaired
