At 2:30 a.m. this Saturday, officers of the Local Police of Puerto del Rosario located an unconscious man in Tefía, in the capital of Fuerteventura, Puerto del Rosario.
The injured man, an adult man of about 35 years old with South American features and who was not carrying identification documents, could be located after an anonymous call from a driver who was traveling through the area.
The victim was transferred by an ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura where the first examinations were performed.
The man had "serious blows to the face, which was practically disfigured and on the head", which caused him a traumatic brain injury. The same sources indicated that the severity of his health condition led to his urgent transfer in a helicopter of the Canary Health Service to a hospital center in Gran Canaria at about 4:00 in the morning.
Sources from the investigation of the event pointed to a settling of accounts as a possible reason for the aggression, although they do not rule out other hypotheses.
