"EVERYTHING WAS JUST A SCARE, AN ANECDOTE," SAYS THE COUNCILOR

An official vehicle of the San Bartolomé Town Hall was stolen, which appeared shortly after in Argana

It was ordered to change the locks of the Town Hall, since there were keys to the building inside the vehicle. However, it was finally not necessary to do so since the car appeared an hour and a half later?

A person stole an official vehicle from the San Bartolomé Town Hall this Monday. A municipal worker entered the Town Hall "for a few seconds" and left the car keys in the ignition. At that moment, someone took the car, which appeared an hour and a half later in the Argana neighborhood, in Arrecife.

This incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. this Monday, when the operator entered the Town Hall to run an errand. When he left, he saw how someone was taking the municipal vehicle. He quickly gave the warning and both he and several colleagues, as well as the Local Police of San Bartolomé, went out to look for it.

The municipal workers themselves found the vehicle in the Argana neighborhood an hour and a half after the theft. "The car is in perfect condition and they didn't take anything," the Councilor for Local Police and Citizen Security, Antonio Rocío, explained to La Voz.

At first, it was ordered to change all the locks of the Town Hall, since there was a copy of the keys in the stolen vehicle. "Ten minutes before changing the locks, the car appeared with the keys inside, so it was finally not necessary," Rocío pointed out.

Despite the "scare", everything was "an anecdote", since the stolen vehicle is "in perfect condition". The Local Police of San Bartolomé is now investigating who could be behind this theft.
