The Civil Guard found no indications of criminality in the death of a woman whose husband tried to board a plane at Tenerife South airport when she was already dead.

Sources from the Civil Guard have informed EFE that, although the events have only now come to light, they occurred on October 24 of last year when, at the security checkpoint of the Tenerife airport, the man, around 80 years old and a foreigner, attempted to pass through with his wife, 75, who was in a wheelchair, to catch a flight to their country of origin.

Did not respond to stimuli and had a low body temperature

Security personnel detected something strange as the woman, who apparently suffered from severe mobility problems, was unresponsive to stimuli and also had a very low body temperatureMedical services were alerted, and it was confirmed that the woman was dead, so, according to sources, the protocol for finding a body was activatedSources indicate that from the outset it was confirmed that there were no signs of foul play in the death, which occurred due to natural causes, and therefore the husband was not arrestedThey also specify that it is unknown whether the man was aware that his wife had passed away when he attempted to pass through security control
