A 50-year-old woman was seriously injured at noon this Thursday after a spectacular accident on Las Palmeras Avenue in Costa Teguise. Apparently, her vehicle collided with another in an overtaking maneuver and ended up overturning and rolling over twice.
The car ended up embedded against a palm tree and the driver was trapped, so the intervention of the firefighters was necessary. They even had to cut the roof of the vehicle to get the injured woman out, who was later attended by paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service.
According to sources from the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES), the woman suffered severe head trauma and was transferred in a medical ambulance to the Molina Orosa Hospital in critical condition.
