A 50-year-old woman has had to be treated for severe smoke inhalation during a fire in her home in Arrecife. The fire started at approximately 12:00 noon this Monday on the second floor of the building, located on La Niña street. At that time, an alert was received at the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2, reporting the fire.
The fire declared in the house "affected a room, in which furniture, clothes and electrical appliances were burning", according to the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium.
Agents of the National Police, the Local Police, firefighters and a basic life support ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service have been transferred to the scene. The SUC health personnel assisted the injured woman and transferred her to the Molina Orosa hospital.
The Consortium firefighters extinguished the flames with water, ventilated the building and "checked the electrical installation to be able to give power to the refrigerator." The police services have taken charge of the corresponding procedures.
