Firefighters from Lanzarote Airport had to go this Thursday at 10:57 in the morning to one of the runways of the César Manrique aerodrome, alerted to a possible emergency landing on a flight from the United Kingdom. This has been confirmed to La Voz from Aena.
As announced by the Air Traffic Controllers through their official X account (formerly Twitter), it was a problem in the flaps of the plane, a kind of flap located on the wing that is used when flying at low speed.
Specifically, three fire trucks were moved to the site, as La Voz has been able to confirm through Lanzarote Web Cam, which ultimately did not have to intervene.
The plane of the company Tui, formerly Thomson Airways, was instructed by the control center of the Canary Islands to wait west of the island of Lanzarote, away from traffic, until it made the appropriate checks to be able to land. Once ready and released the three aerodrome track, the controllers positioned him to approach without incident.
