A flight from Valencia to Gran Canaria had to be diverted to Lanzarote due to a medical emergency on board. According to the X (formerly Twitter) account of Air Traffic Controllers, a passenger over 75 years old suffered a possible heart attack during the flight.
The flight crew notified the control tower of the situation and were facilitated the descent to Lanzarote, diverting air traffic if necessary and shortening the route and approach as much as possible, explain @controladores. Meanwhile, coordination was made with the island's airport to manage medical care on the ground for the affected passenger.
The crew and air traffic controllers worked together to ensure the safety of the passenger and have "wished a speedy recovery to him".
