Juan Montelongo, 59 years old, died this Sunday morning while hunting rabbits in the upper part of Capellanía in La Vegueta, municipality of Tinajo.

The event took place around 08.30 hours, the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert reporting that a man had fallen down a slope located on the aforementioned road and was unconscious. Once the SUC personnel were transferred to the place, they verified that it was not a fall but that the injured person was in cardiorespiratory arrest, so they performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without success, later confirming his death. This was explained to La Voz de Lanzarote by Jesús Machín, mayor of Tinajo, who also came to the site.

Agents of the Local Police, Civil Protection and two SUC ambulances have been moved to the place.

The Civil Guard has taken charge of the body until the arrival of the Judicial Authority and is investigating the corresponding procedures.
