Firefighters from the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote have rescued a hiker who got trapped in the Risco de Famara. The incident took place at 3:40 p.m. this past Thursday, when she alerted the emergency services.

The Local Police of Teguise contacted the firefighters to explain that the hiker could not continue walking and was in a difficult to access area. For this reason, they traveled to the place with two vehicles, one through the area of the Casa del Agua de Famara and the other through the Bosquecillo.

After contacting the caller herself through the Local Police of Teguise, and receiving several photos and indications, they managed to locate her. The Local Police of Haría was also in the Bosquecillo area and collaborated in the service.

The woman was in a difficult to access area and had become blocked, unable to move on her own due to fear. The hiker was in good health, so with the help of harnesses and rope, she was secured to be able to leave the rugged area where she was until she reached the path.

The emergency services transferred her to Caleta de Famara in the fire truck and ended the service, informing the fire station and CECOES.
