Firefighters from the Security and Emergency Consortium extinguished a fire in the kitchen of a restaurant in Puerto del Carmen this Wednesday morning.
After being alerted by the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands, the firefighters went to the premises, located on Avenida de las Playas. The Civil Guard and Local Police also traveled there.
Upon arrival, the firefighters verified that the main focus of the fire affected the fryer, the extractor hood and that flames were coming out of the roof, from the gas outlet pipe. In addition, there were small outbreaks in the rest of the kitchen, which was totally affected by the temperature.
The firefighters extinguished the fire inside the kitchen with a multipurpose powder extinguisher and another foam extinguisher, and the fire in the gas outlet pipe with foam from the roof. Once the fire was extinguished, they proceeded to ventilate the premises, since the bar and dining area had been affected by smoke and, to a lesser extent, by temperature.
Likewise, the Consortium personnel informed the owner that he had to notify an electrician, since the local lever box was "very damaged" by the fire. Similarly, the Civil Guard and Local Police were informed that the owner and employees of the premises could enter and that the neighboring premises could return to normal, thus ending the service.
