Family rescue in Famara

The Civil Guard of the main post of Costa Teguise was alerted at 17:10 through the Operations Service Center (COS) by a couple who were with their young son trapped in a gorge located on a dirt road that runs from the beach known as El Papelillo to the Casa del Agua in Famara.

These people were leaning on a rock, unable to move in any direction for fear of falling over the extreme precipice, after losing their way while walking, becoming blocked by the impossibility and danger of continuing for fear of falling.

Immediately, the Civil Guard patrol activated the emergency services with whom they began the initial search together; with the ERMELAN height rescue team to make a journey on foot along the shore of Famara beach, while a detachment of Arrecife Firefighters made the journey along the dirt road that runs from El Papelillo beach to the Casa del Agua to try to find out exactly the location of these people.

Once located by the Civil Guard together with EMERLAN, they began to climb up the mountain to the location of these people, finding them in a state of shock but in good health.

Immediately, the exact location of the affected people was transferred to the firefighters, who carried out their rescue from the place where they were.

Rescued and out of danger, this family decided to leave in their private vehicle without needing medical assistance.
