National Police agents have arrested a 23-year-old man in Arrecife, with numerous police records, as the alleged perpetrator of gender violence and assault on an authority agent. His arrest occurred after several witnesses reported the "loud bangs and shouts" that were heard in a home in the city. After being brought to justice, the young man has been released with charges.

After some of them alerted the Police through calls to 091, several police officers went to the scene and interviewed the two members of the couple residing in the home. They pointed out that "moments before they had had a heated argument".

"At that moment, one of the agents was attacked for no apparent reason by the man, who was in a strong state of agitation," the Police said in their statement. Thus, the agents carried out his arrest, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of gender violence and another of assault on an agent of the authority.

After preparing the corresponding police report, the detainee was brought before the competent Judicial Authority, who ordered his release with charges. The police intervention was carried out by members of the Arrecife Police Station.
