A woman was injured this Tuesday after suffering an accident with her car in Playa Honda. Two vehicles have collided in the heart of the town, on Calle Mayor, first thing in the morning. The only person who has received medical assistance has been one of the drivers, who has suffered a mild whiplash and has been transferred to the Molina Orosa hospital in Arrecife by ambulance.
The Coordinating Center for Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands was alerted to the accident at around 8:00 a.m. and has sent two ambulances to the area, one basic and one medicalized. Upon arrival, the paramedics gave this driver first aid. According to 112, there was also a man at the scene who was also involved in the accident, although in his case he stated that he was fine and declined to receive assistance.
The accident occurred when two cars collided on this central street. As a result of that collision, one of the vehicles overturned and hit one of the planters on Calle Mayor in Playa Honda, even pulling up one of the small palm trees. In addition to the ambulances of the Canary Emergency Service, the firefighters of the Security and Emergency Consortium also went there, who, after verifying that no one had been trapped, were in charge of cleaning the road. The Local Police of San Bartolomé also assisted in the event.
