The National Police have arrested a 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, both from Albania, for a crime of document forgery in Arrecife. The couple was arrested after identifying themselves with forged Italian identity cards. The originals were listed as stolen in the police databases.

The events unfolded when both tried to take a flight at the Lanzarote airport. They then identified themselves with those Italian identity cards, which "raised doubts about their authenticity", the Police point out.

"After an exhaustive analysis of the documents, the police officers verified that they had been manipulated", explains the police force. Thus, the agents arrested these two people as alleged perpetrators of two crimes of document forgery.

Once the true numbering of the documentary supports was verified, it was possible to determine that they were listed as stolen in the police databases. After the police report was prepared, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority. The police intervention was carried out by agents attached to the Lanzarote Police Station.
