Agents of the Local Police of Arrecife, in their investigation and monitoring tasks in the neighborhoods of Arrecife, found the presence of a large stain on the public road in a street in the Argana Alta neighborhood that came from inside a warehouse where work was being carried out on its interior pavement.
The police action, carried out recently, was able to verify - as stated in the infraction report - that "being at the place, it is observed that there is a huge white stain that runs along the road for a distance of approximately 150 meters, which has its beginning in a warehouse. Interviewed with the manager of the company causing it, he says that it was indeed from them, that the previous day they were floating the floor, and when passing the machine, all the plastic paint came off it, and that before painting it again they used pressurized water to pour everything onto the public road."
The report indicates that those responsible for this dumping on the public road "did not know that this could not be done. Therefore, they are informed that the facts will be reported to the corresponding municipal department, for a possible infraction of the municipal ordinance that regulates the matter."
The Infractions Area of the Arrecife City Council is headed by Councilor Kevin Cortes, whose department has been processing numerous infraction reports for dumping different types of waste throughout this year 2024.
The Local Police recalls that the municipal ordinances regulating the cleaning and collection of domestic waste service, published in the BOP on January 2, 2023, reflects in its article Art.152.2. b) classifies as punishable "the uncontrolled abandonment, dumping or elimination of any type of non-hazardous waste, without serious damage to natural resources or being likely to cause serious damage to human health."
The company causing this dumping has its address in Tinajo. The warehouse where the dumping was recorded is located on Isa Street, in the Argana Alta neighborhood.
The agents of the Local Police of Arrecife are intensifying their presence in all the neighborhoods of Arrecife to ensure compliance with municipal ordinances, as in this case, to enforce the provisions on waste.
